With a tender tinkle, the gentle old bell jolts up -for a fleeting moment- the resting monument, into it’s millennial past as a temple complex.


The Sun Temple built in Modhera, Gujarat, is a significant piece of history from a thousand years ago. Hence today, the monument is conserved and is no longer a functioning temple. Yet, the women in the picture, like many others, rings a bell to pay her respect to the Gods in the temple.
